Honda Africa Twin DCT Adventure Sports passing a Harley Davidson, Kessingland, Suffolk. Riding from Brighton East Sussex, loaded with a full set of luggage and tent equipment for a tour of Norfolk and Suffolk. Having passed my bike test just 6 months previously, I covered a respectable 600 miles over three days.

hi mate, I've seen this videos a couple of years old and was wondering whether you had any issues prior to unfortunately losing your bike and whether or not it's worth buying. at the moment it's slightly discounted from cyclotricity at 800 for the stock bike and around 1.1k for the throttle and 16ah battery. do you still believe this is worth it or are there better, similar priced alternatives
I believe the bike is worth buying, representing decent value. The quality is not the same of a Trek or Giant, and notably the sprocket cassette was substandard and became noisy on mine quite quickly, the supplier did actually replace it with a Shimano unit instead. Sadly I've since had the bike stolen out of my garage, luckily it was insured but I've not replaced it yet.
@@SimonIngram Im looking for something that can commute me about 10-12 miles a day, giant and trek ebikes are well out of budget. Im also looking for something which isn't speed restricted since most bikes may not be able to as far as I am aware. I'm looking for speed whilst being more subtle going above 15mph compared to a surron which is mostly illegal. it's a big purchase for me and just really looking into it since there aren't many reviews on this specific bike. also is the battery detachable?
@@ItsAceyBruv Mine would reach 35-40 in unrestricted mode quite easily! And in road mode with speeds up to around 20-25 I could get about 50 miles range.
@@SimonIngram is the customer service good? I looked on the website and alot of the poor reviews are due to lack of post sale service and not keeping up with their warranty promise
@@ItsAceyBruv My experience with them was positive. I purchased mine through a bike dealer rather than direct, Electric Bike Factory who I believe doesn't exist anymore, and when I had a problem with the gears, they replaced the whole bike and fitted Shimano gear set.

When you ride the AT with HIVIS on do you get an overwhelming desire to not nod at other bikers? I have to say though the roads around there are in very good condition a lovely ride with good scenery even the rain cant dampen it (pun not intended but Ill take it)
Oof, shots fired at my lovely Oxford waterproof hi-vis jacket LOL! I nod at almost everyone, but the other day I nodded at a Deliveroo rider by mistake and felt really stupid. Actually I find less people nod to me if I'm wearing the hi-vis jacket, I did have the trousers to match but changed them to black ones in the hope I looked less like a policeman.
I have a bad habit of when people at work say hello I give them a biker nod in return. I may need to stop riding for a bit and reset myself to normal human.......nah!
Oof shots fired about filtering, you wound me sir, I am wounded lol. I actually used to live in Wattisham but I've never gone up the A12. Done the A140 to Norwich a few times and some of the backroads when I had my old Vauxhall Calibra V6. Ive actually been watching a few videos with the Africa Twin, Ive become quite taken with the 270 crank and the sound it makes. Its also the engine in the Rebel 1100. The previous version of the Africa Twin obvs, without so much buttons. It will be nice to hear once you get the mic situation sorted ( Ive got no idea about GopPros)

@@SimonIngram I once made a 4k video in 60fps and trying to edit it nearly killed my PC. I usually do 4k 30fps, my PC can just about manage. I then upload overnight and set the release for later in the day or week.
@@SloboloboVFR Thanks, it came straight out of the camera which I've just bought, I'll check the settings and give that a try. Could I ask what editing software you use, and do you use a mike or bluetooth to headset?
@@SimonIngram DJI Osmo action 4. The £45 mic adapter and a purple panda. I use Capcut which is free to use but I pay for the "PRO" version for some of the automated adjustments and editing it can do. There's probably better software to use but I'm not sure what I'm doing most of the time I just mess about and see how it looks.

@@dustinsudkamp3722 it was probably to do with record/CD sales. Apparently New Order stated the sales of their record dropped when they appeared Live!

@@dustinsudkamp3722 Unlike The Tube, the BBC couldn't spend hours waiting on every band setting up and rehearsing prior to the live broadcast . Most of this performance is not live, the Yamaha QX1 is doing the bulk of the drums, bass and keyboards. Still a good effort though and the vocals and guitar/bass solos are clearly live.

@@IngramCars that's pretty good. Looking for something with a little more oomph than my 250w ebike I got from Halfords a couple years ago. It goes slow up hill and I need to help it out a lot with my own legs which I'd rather not do.
